The values which have underpinned the Matthew Project from its inception are therefore essentially Christian ones: compassion, kindness, understanding, support, listening and care. We aim to help young people understand the effects of drugs and alcohol, empowering them to make more informed choices.

The Matthew Project - Youth Team About this service The Matthew Project Youth Team works around the county with young people under the age of 25, regarding drugs, alcohol and other related issues. The Matthew Project has gone through a of changes recently and now employs over 60 people.

The youth team offers lessons and question times in primary, middle and high schools and PRUs in Norfolk and Suffolk. The Matthew Project has developed its services for over 30 years and now works with young people, adults and communities in matthsw variety of ways across East Anglia.
Over this time, we have built up a reputation for delivering high quality, effective services, focusing on both prevention and treatment. Our values form the core of our ethos and are overtly shared by all our staff.
Projedt work benefits a wide range of people from a wide range of different backgrounds. Originally set up as a general advice service in Norfolk for young people, it evolved to primarily focus on providing advice and support for both young people and adults in relation to drugs and alcohol.
As well as the individuals themselves, our work also creates social change and improvements to the local community in a range of different ways. We help these beneficiaries to achieve better physical and mental health, better relationships with others, and overall better quality jatthew life, along with access to more opportunities. We started off in as a small local charity with a vision to support disadvantaged people across Norfolk.

The Matthew Project works with individuals of any age and also communities who are affected by substance use. Soon after, we began offering one-to-one outreach support across the county, and this remains a key part of our role today — ensuring that those who are unable to travel and mattuew services can be supported in their own homes and communities.
Our work takes place in a wide matthes of settings including schools, youth venues, mobile units, Police Stations, our own matthews and those of our partners. The work of the Matthew Project still centres on Norfolk although it does carry out work in Suffolk and Essex, matthdw involves working in partnership with a variety of agencies with a variety of funding streams including statutory partnerships and charitable funding for example through the Big Lottery and Comic Relief. That's why we w We believe that every person, no matter their age or background, deserves the chance to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
